Community Involvement
Gujurati Samaj of Oklahoma (GSO)
Since its inception in the early 1990’s, Sam and his family have been active members and served on many different committees for the Gujurati Samaj of Oklahoma (GSO). GSO is a collective of the Gujurati community located in and around Oklahoma City. Originating from Northern India the GSO’s goal is to preserve the culture by bringing Gujarati families together and building strong unity within the local community. They help educate the youth about their culture and beliefs. GSO is here to help the Gujurati community network and collaborate for a brighter tomorrow!
St Paul’s Community School
St Paul’s Community School is a non-profit private school located in south Oklahoma City, with the mission to bring high quality education to the much-underserved south OKC community and its children. Journey Financial has been working with the local Master Gardeners to teach the children about gardening. Every year, we help prep the beds, plant seeds, nurture and eventually harvest from the vegetable gardens. The children love tasting the fruits of their labor and often take home some of the harvest to share with their families.
Habitat for Humanity
The Journey Team are supporters of Habitat for Humanity, which builds homes, promotes fair housing, and works towards lasting positive change in communities to ensure everyone has a decent place to live.
Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma
The Journey Team actively supports Regional Food Bank, Oklahoma's largest hunger-relief nonprofit, which fights hunger in central and western Oklahoma by distributing food to those in need and advocating for self-sufficiency and equitable opportunities.
South OKC Chamber
The Journey Team are members of the South OKC Chamber, which advocates for local businesses, fostering a climate of success and making the community a desirable place to raise families. The Chamber's strength lies in its size and unity, achieving great things for the entire business community.
